Dr. Jairo Espinoza, MD, is an active Neurosurgeon with specialization in functional surgery in Cologne – Germany. He is the founder of ILANS (Latin American Institute of Neurology and Nervous System) Colombia, a network of Neurological Institutes, located in Colombia. Over 100,000 patients yearly go to the clinics to receive interdisciplinary diagnosis and treatment of the diseases of the nervous system. Dr. Espinoza leads the processes needed to offer medical cannabis (MC) products to the patients who need it to improve their quality of life and health condition. Cost effectiveness strategies and innovative bundled programs offered to insurers are cornerstones that allow patients to access MC therapy. Medical education is pivotal to correctly and safely prescribe the products.
Dr. Espinoza has led medical Societies and has contributed to their progress from the corporate, medical and scientific stand point. He was President of the SLANFE (Latin American Society for Functional and Stereotactic Neurosurgery), and has served as member of the Board of Directors at the ACED (Colombian Association for the Study of Pain) and to the WSSFN (World Society for Functional and Stereotactic Neurosurgery).
